Tenor Samuel Boden will create a role in George Benjamin and Martin Crimp’s next opera, Lessons in Love and Violence at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden. The World Premiere takes place in May 2018 in a production by Katie Mitchell, conducted by the composer. More about the new work.
Tenor Samuel Boden will take part in the event to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme on July 1 at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Thiepvel Memorial in Northern France. He will perform alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra and The Band of the Welsh Guards amongst others with the event being broadcast live on BBC One. 10,000 people are expected to attend including the Prince of Wales, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, David Cameron and European and Commonwealth heads of state. Tenor Samuel Boden will join the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Sir Andrew Davis on January 22 at The Barbican to sing Berlioz Romeo et Juliette. The performance will be followed by recording sessions for future release on the Chandos label and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on January 26.
Tenor Samuel Boden will be making his début
with the Bayerische Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra under Giovanni Antonini on September 26 & 27 at the Prinzregententheater Munich singing Bach Cantatas and Vivaldi.

Tenor Samuel Boden will make his début with the Nederlandse Reisopera singing Orphée in Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice directed by Floris Visser and conducted by Roger Hamilton. The show opens on May 1 and tours throughout The Netherlands until June 6.

Tenor Samuel Boden joins The Bach Players for a recording of Bach Wachet Auf and Buxtehude Wachet Auf and Quemadmodum desiderat cervus. Just released is his recording of the Bach B Minor Mass with Arcangelo and Jonathan Cohen on Hyperion.
Samuel Boden sings Abaris in Rameau’s Les Boréades from this summer’s Aix-en-Provence Festival on BBC Radio 3.
