David Hill has just been appointed Principal Conductor of the Yale Schola Cantorum. In addition, he will hold the post of Professor (Adjunct) of Choral Conducting for a three-year term in the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and Yale School of Music. He will appear with Yale Schola Cantorum on January 26 conducting the Frank Martin Mass for Double Choir and Purcell Anthems at Christ Church Episcopal, New Haven, CT.

Helen-Jane Howells works for the first time with Ensemble La Fenice directed by Jean Tubéry for Purcell’s King Arthur at the Festival de Musique Baroque in Lyon. Performances on December 15 & 16.
Tenor Samuel Boden will join Le Concert d’Astrée and Emmanuelle Haïm at the Opéra de Lille on November 17 for Une Nuit à la Cour singing Purcell and Charpentier and appears with the HR Sinfonie Orchester’s Barok+ series with Haïm on November 23 & 24 for Rameau, Lully and Purcell.
Tenor Samuel Boden will make his Glyndebourne début on July 20 in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen with performances to August 26. Recently-signed soprano Keri Fuge will feature twice at the 2012 London Handel Festival. Winner of the Michael Olive Prize at last year’s London Handel Competition, Keri gives a lunchtime recital of works by Handel and Purcell at St George’s Hanover Square at 1.00 pm on Wednesday March 28 and sings Handel’s cantata Armida Abandonata HWV105 on April 11. We are delighted to announce the addition of soprano Helen-Jane Howells to our list. Following successful performances as Eve in Jonathan Kent’s production of The Fairy Queen at Glyndebourne and with Les Arts Florissants at the Opéra Comique and Caen, Helen-Jane will tour with the show to Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York later in March. Her other projects include appearances with The Academy of Ancient Music and Florilegium before returning to Glyndebourne as Amor L’Incoronazione di Poppea for their autumn tour. More …
