Designer Simon Bejer provides sets and costumes and Soprano Rhiannon Llewellyn sings Tytania for Waterperry Opera’s The Fairy Queen directed by Ruth Mariner and conducted by William Cole. There are performances on July 26, 27 & 28th (m) in Oxfordshire.
Tenor Guy Cutting joins the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for a programme of Purcell Odes at the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci on June 8 with Laurence Cummings conducting.
Conductor Robert Howarth directs Purcell King Arthur with singers from the Advanced Baroque Opera Course at Dartington on August 10. The work is semi-staged by Richard Williams and follows a performance of Great Baroque Sonatas he leads on August 5.
Countertenor John Lattimore will make his German opera début in Purcell The Fairy Queen for Theater Bremen. The production by Robert Lehniger is conducted by Olof Boman and performances will take place at Theater am Goetheplatz, Bremen on May 21, 30, June 1, 11, 14, 23, 25, 27 & July 1.
Returning to the company after previous collaborations with The return of Ulysses and Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda conductor Robert Howarth directs Dido & Aeneas with Graham’s Vick’s Birmingham Opera Company for performances on March 18, 19, 21, 22 & 23 in Birmingham. There are two performances per evening at a ‘secret venue’.
