Polly Graham director c. Jorge LizaldePolly Graham will direct Olga Neuwirth’s Orlando at the Vienna State Opera. The world première on 8 December 2019 will feature stage design by Roy Spahn, lighting by Ulrich Schneider with videos by Will Duke and costumes by Comme des Garçons.
The cast, conducted by Matthias Pintscher, includes Kate Lindsey, Eric Jurenas, Constance Hauman, Leigh Melrose, Vivian Bond and Agneta Eichenholz. There are further performances on December 11, 14, 18 (streamed live) and 20.

Harry Fehr, Director - Orlando 5 - Scottish Opera - c. Richard CampbellHarry Fehr makes his US début directing Handel Orlando at San Francisco Opera with performances on June 9, 15, 18, 21 & 27. Originally a Scottish Opera production, the staging has also had success at Welsh National Opera “This is Handel with a modern audience in mind: emotional, direct, confronting.” The Spectator.

Harry Fehr - Director c. Alex BrennerHarry Fehr makes his Dutch directing début with Tosca for the Nederlandse Reisopera. Designed by Yannis Thavoris, the production is conducted by David Parry and opens at the Wilmintheater, Enschede on October 13 with further performances on tour until November 12.

Later this season Fehr directs in Germany for the first time staging Roberto Devereux at the Badisches Staatstheater, Karlsruhe and makes his US début with Orlando at San Francisco Opera.

Harry FehrDirector Harry Fehr’s production of Orlando for Welsh National Opera has been nominated for a Wales Theatre Award in the ‘Best Opera Production’ category. The winner will be announced on January 30. The production, which originated with Scottish Opera, has received much critical acclaim – “Harry Fehr’s recent Orlando for Welsh National Opera picks up where David Alden and David McVicar left off at ENO, recasting Handel’s sorcery story as one of psychological trauma and war. This is Handel with a modern audience in mind: emotional, direct, confronting.” The Spectator.

The cast includes Larry Zazzo, Rebecca Evans and Robin Blaze and the production is designed by Yannis Thavoris with lighting design by Anna Watson.
