Mezzo soprano Bethany Horak-Hallett features in film director Grant Gee’s realisation of the St John Passion with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Mark Padmore is music director as well as singing Evangelist and the film will premiere on OAE Player on April 2 at 19:00 GMT.

Kate Howden at Ojai and Aldeburgh Festivals

Kate Howder - Mezzo soprano c.Robert WorkmanAt the Ojai Festival, California, mezzo Kate Howden sings Mark Anthony Turnage Twice through the Heart with Ludwig conducted by Edo Frenkel on June 6 and Stravinsky Pulcinella on June 9 with the ensemble and Barbara Hannigan conducting. They reprise the Stravinsky at the Aldeburgh Festival on June 22.

Kate Howden and Sam Boden to appear at Aldeburgh Festival

Aldeburgh Festival 2019Just announced is the Aldeburgh Festival programme for June 2019 which will feature tenor Samuel Boden and mezzo Kate Howden. Samuel sings the central role of the Narrator in Thomas Larcher The Hunting Gun as well as Britten Canticle III Still falls the rain. Kate joins The Ludwig Orchestra and Barbara Hannigan for Stravinsky Pulcinella .

Kate Howden joins Equilibrium initiative
