At the Ojai Festival, California, mezzo Kate Howden sings Mark Anthony Turnage Twice through the Heart with Ludwig conducted by Edo Frenkel on June 6 and Stravinsky Pulcinella on June 9 with the ensemble and Barbara Hannigan conducting. They reprise the Stravinsky at the Aldeburgh Festival on June 22.
Just announced is the Aldeburgh Festival programme for June 2019 which will feature tenor Samuel Boden and mezzo Kate Howden. Samuel sings the central role of the Narrator in Thomas Larcher The Hunting Gun as well as Britten Canticle III Still falls the rain. Kate joins The Ludwig Orchestra and Barbara Hannigan for Stravinsky Pulcinella .
Mezzo Kate Howden sings the title role of Isouard Cendrillon alongside tenor Bradley Smith as The Prince and baritone Nicholas Merryweather as Alidor for Bampton Classical Opera. There are performances on July 20 & 21 – Bampton, Oxfordshire; August 27 – Westonbirt, Gloucestershire & September 18 – St John’s Smith Square, London with Harry Sever conducting Jeremy Gray’s production.
Mezzo soprano Kate Howden will join the inaugural cohort of Equilibrium Young Artists following extensive world-wide auditions. The Equilibrium initiative was launched by Barbara Hannigan to mentor young professional musicians in the first phase of their career and to provide performance opportunities in Europe and North America, amongst which Kate will sing Baba the Turk The Rake’s Progress with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Hannigan.
Conductor Natalie Murray Beale and mezzo Kate Howden take to the road again with Il Ritorno, Circa Contemporary Circus’s hugely successful production based on Monteverdi Il Ritorno d’Ulisse. They tour to California for performances on January 23 – Musco Center for the Arts, Orange County, January 26 – Mondavi Arts Center, UC Davis and February 4 – Zellerbach Hall, Berkeley.
