Samuel Boden to sing at Somme100 event

Tenor Samuel Boden will take part in the event to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme on July 1 at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Thiepvel Memorial in Northern France. He will perform alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra and The Band of the Welsh Guards amongst others with the event being broadcast live on BBC One. 10,000 people are expected to attend including the Prince of Wales, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, David Cameron and European and Commonwealth heads of state. Sam will also be performing Butterworth The Lads in their Hundreds at the Military Vigil the evening before which will be broadcast live on BBC Two. http://somme2016.org/.

Samuel Boden records Berlioz Romeo & Juliette

Samuel Boden TenorTenor Samuel Boden will join the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Sir Andrew Davis on January 22 at The Barbican to sing Berlioz Romeo et Juliette. The performance will be followed by recording sessions for future release on the Chandos label and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on January 26.

Dietrich Henschel stars on stage and screen

Dietrich Henschel, baritoneBaritone Dietrich Henschel brings his unique interpretation of Mahler Das Knaben Wunderhorn  to the Barbican on April 15. Collaborating with the  BBC Symphony Orchestra under Alexander Vedernikov in Detlev Glanert’s orchestration he will be both starring in Clara Pons’ film version as well as performing the song cycle on stage.
