Conductor Robert Howarth will work with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for the first time on December 16. Smaller in scale than the original work planned, the short Baroque Christmas programme will comprise seasonal works by Corelli, Handel, Vivaldi plus Bach. The concert will be live streamed to digital ticket holders from the BSO base at The Lighthouse, Poole.

Robert HowarthConductor Robert Howarth makes his Broadway début as Musical Director of Farinelli and the King starring Mark Rylance and Iestyn Davies at the Belasco Theater, New York. The play by Claire van Kampen about King Philip V’s relationship with the celebrated castrato was critically acclaimed at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse and Duke of York’s Theatre in London. The production opens on December 17 and there are performances until March 25, 2018.

Robert Howarth, conductorConductor Robert Howarth directs Purcell King Arthur with singers from the Advanced Baroque Opera Course at Dartington on August 10. The work is semi-staged by Richard Williams and follows a performance of Great Baroque Sonatas he leads on August 5.
