Returning to the company after previous collaborations with The return of Ulysses and Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda conductor Robert Howarth directs Dido & Aeneas with Graham’s Vick’s Birmingham Opera Company for performances on March 18, 19, 21, 22 & 23 in Birmingham. There are two performances per evening at a ‘secret venue’.

Conductor Robert Howarth will replace Richard Egarr for the Academy of Ancient Music’s production of L’incoronazione di Poppea at The Barbican, London on October 4. Directing Alexander Oliver’s semi-Staging, Howarth will be joined by a stellar cast including Lynne Dawson (Poppea), Sarah Connolly (Nerone), Marina de Liso (Ottavia), Iestyn Davies (Ottone) and Matthew Rose (Seneca).[More …]

Conductor Robert Howarth will make his Opernhaus Zurich début conducting Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria. He takes over at short notice for the production by Willy Decker with an all-star cast that includes Kurt Streit and Sara Mingardo. Performances on May 17, 21, 23, 28, 30, June 1, 5, 7, 11 & 14.

Robert Howarth will make his Norwegian opera début at Den Norske Opera on August 18. He conducts Haydn’s L’Isola Disabitata, in a production by Hilde Andersen with performances between August 18 and September 4 followed by a revival from April 28 – May 10, 2013.
