Cyndia Sieden in Amsterdam and Salzburg

Cyndia Sieden’s latest challenge is the High Soprano role in Wolgang Rhim’s Dionysos. The Salzburg Festival / Netherlands Opera / Deutsche Staatsoper co-production is realised by Pierre Audi with Ingo Metzmacher conducting the Netherlands Philharmonic and opens at Westergasfabriek Gashouder, Amsterdam on June 8. Next month at the Salzburg Festival Cyndia sings Luigi Nono’s Prometeo – Tragedia dell’ascolto with Metzmacher, the Ensemble Modern and sound design from the Experimentalstudio Freiburg des SWR directed by André Richard. Performances on July 30 & 31.

Congratulations to Two CPM artists who feature on winning discs at the 2010 Gramophone Awards: Cyndia Sieden with her portrayal as Ariel in Thomas Adès The Tempest on EMI and Helen-Jane Howells as Eve in the DVD of Glyndebourne’s production of The Fairy Queen on Opus Arte.

Cyndia Sieden takes the role of the Cheshire Cat in Unsuk Chin’s Alice in Wonderland for the Grand Théâtre de Genève. The production by Mira Bartov is conducted by Wen-Pin Chien and premières on June 11 with further performances on June 14, 17, 20, 22 & 24, 2010

Soprano Cyndia Sieden will take the role of Ariel in Keith Warner’s new production of Thomas Adès’ The Tempest for Oper Frankfurt conducted by Johannes Debus. The production opens on January 10 with further performances on January 15, 17, 23, 29 and February 6. More details…
Ms Sieden received great acclaim for her interpretation of the role in the first production of the opera at The Royal Opera House under the composer. EMI have recently released a recording featuring the original cast:
